Why I love our Milan Collection

5 reasons why this is my favourite collection

Milan began as a centre of fashion all the way back in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance and has been known for its luxury goods and fashion ever since. Hence why we called this collection the Milan as each individual piece is not only luxurious but effortless and timeless.

It is my favourite collection at White Ribbon, and I think most of the team here would agree, as there is something for everyone, and with its luxurious jersey fabric it simply looks and feels amazing! So here are 5 reasons why I adore our Milan Collection.

The Fabric

Okay, so I have already briefly mentioned the luxurious fabric of these pieces, but it needs some serious attention. Each piece in the collection is made from the same super soft, luxurious jersey fabric, that is cosy but light and breathable at the same time.

You are always comfortable in jersey, it feels soft against the skin and allows the fabric to fall beautifully, hugging you in all the right places and skimming over those places where you hold your sins.

The Collection

I love the range in this collection and how they all work together, but also how they stand out as individual pieces. We have our gorgeous waterfall jackets that are ¾ length with a waterfall drape feature that compliments any frame size.

The stunning, head turning parachute dress has soft draping folds to the side, front and back and panels that’s taper in, to give it a flattering look. The Milan skirt is a new introduction to the collection, and it is simple but elegant with its full length, a side split for comfort and elasticated drawstring waist.

Last but by no means least we have our essential Milan vest, an absolute staple to anyone’s wardrobe. With its wide fitting shoulder strap, it allows for any size undergarment to be worn but not shown. The entire collection comes in a range of stunning colours to choose from. Bringing me to my next point of mixing and matching.

Mix and Match

This collection is incredibly easy to mix and match together. The waterfall jacket looks amazing over the parachute dress. The vest matches perfectly to the skirt and looks fab under the jacket. The colour tones of each garment match flawlessly so you can go all out in one colour like a denim blue jacket and dress, or you can mix the colours together.

My personal favourite, and one that Nic wears a lot, is the jade jacket and skirt with the white Milan vest. In addition, all the pieces look fabulous with our other collections. The Bromley fine knit looks amazing over the vests and parachute dresses. The jacket looks amazing with our denim Capris and Sorrento’s and the skirt looks fab with our new jersey tees (knot the tee to create an edgy funky look).

It is such a pick and mix collection that you can really bring your own personality and style into it, which after all is what true fashion is all about.

How you can wear it

So, we have already gone over how we can put the pieces together but what I love the most is how you can wear it in different seasons. For me I wear this collection Spring, Summer, Autumn and even on the not so freezing, rainy miserable days in winter.

I love to wear the parachute dress in autumn/winter with a big chunky cardie, a thick fluffy scarf, warm socks, and winter boots. And for the extra chilly days I pop the vest underneath the dress for a bit of extra warmth. Then in spring and summer I can truly show off the garments and wear the dress on its own with the jacket rolled up in my handbag in case of a sudden and very likely British weather change.

The skirt I wear mostly in spring and summer, but again in the colder seasons I style it up and layer it up like I do with the dress. The lightweight waterfall jacket is also perfect for you ladies in autumn time who can sometimes get a little bit hot. As it covers you up, obviously looks fab with most autumnal outfits and the soft lightweight fabric allows you to keep cool and not overheat. Once again this shows just how versatile this collection is and that you can add and take away from it as you please.
